Throw Back Thursday – An Elegant Garden Inspired Wedding at The Nantucket Golf Club with Jason Groupp Photography

June on Nantucket is when wedding season really kicks into high gear. We love seeing our favorite venues again and getting to design for their spaces. This week, we’re sharing a June wedding shot by Jason Groupp Photography that took place at The Nantucket Golf Club.
Allyson and Kevin’s Wedding was classic with a touch of garden inspiration – we loved creating the floral chandeliers that hung in the tent with our silver lanterns. Incorporating lighting at various heights in such a large tent really brings the ceiling down and creates a more intimate atmosphere.
Two weeks ago, we shared our wedding inspirations for Pantone’s Fall Color, Biscay Bay – and what do you know, these bridesmaid’s dresses are almost a perfect match! It’s such a great mix between teal and peacock – not too green, not too blue.
Allyson carried an all-white bouquet with some of our favorite blooms – peonies, anemones, ranunculus and roses! The bottom of her gown was reminiscent of peony petals, don’t you think?

The ceremony was classic and simple – with Nantucket Basket pew markers and altar arrangements.
This is one of our favorite things to do at St. Mary’s Church – line the steps! It creates such a great photo opportunity and really makes your grand exit as husband and wife just a little more grand.
And boy, do we love a girl who loves Manolos! This was her “something blue” and we couldn’t love it more.
The tables at the reception were mixed with different designs, some with elevated pillar candles on risers with small arrangements accented throughout and the others were more clean and simple glass cylinders and overflowing with lush green and white blooms. Placesetters, Inc. provided the linens and the rentals – look how amazing everything looks against that navy linen! Such a classic look.

Spring Celebrations with Soirée Floral & Pottery Barn

Winter seems never-ending this year and with spring and Easter fast approaching, you won’t have to ask us twice if we’re ready! Whether you celebrate Easter or not, spring always seems to rustle up the urge to entertain. We couldn’t help but want to design a table with color – so we headed over to Pottery Barn to see their 2015 Easter Collection.
We used their classic ivory Emma dinnerware with their embroidered dot collection and paired them with some fun Victorian-style tumblers and milk glass votives! For us, this table is a breath of fresh air, we’re ready for Easter Brunch!

A few colors to keep in mind for your holiday soirée: Toasted Almond and Glacier Grey make perfect neutrals to anchor your palette. Our favorite colors to use would be Custard, Dusk Blue, Lavender Herb, Lucite Green and Strawberry Ice. Which ones are your favorites?

Throw Back Thursday – A Blue, White and Green Nantucket Wedding at The Westmoor Club with Cary Hazlegrove

Nantucket is synonymous with “hydrangea”, they’re blue like the ocean and are found on almost every property on our little island. Today we’re sharing a more traditional wedding featuring Nantucket Baskets and tons of hydrangea photographed by Cary Hazlegrove.
This summer palette of blue, white and green was filled with some of our favorite blooms.
The bride carried peonies, ranunculus, sweet peas and muscari – so lush and fluffy.
The Westmoor Club was the venue for the reception – such a perfect setting for this traditional Nantucket Wedding. The back deck provided views over looking town and guests enjoyed cocktails on the lawn. Our escort display of sand and shells allowed guests to find their tables and provided a reminder that the sea is all around us.
The tables were a mix of overflowing Nantucket Baskets and a mix of glass vases.
Having a labrador on Nantucket is almost a right of passage so what could be more perfect than having one partake on your wedding day? We love this sweet shot.

Emerald and Gold – St. Patrick’s Day Wedding Inspiration with Soirée Floral

Last year we shared some thoughts on throwing your own beer tasting party, making the perfect Guinness Float and making some tasty treats for St. Patrick’s Day, this year we’re sharing with you some fun green-inspired wedding ideas.
You don’t necessarily have to get married on St. Patrick’s Day to execute this color palette, Emerald and Gold weddings are full of rich colors and give you the option to add interesting textures to your wedding day.

Throw Back Thursday – A Romantic Tented Nantucket Wedding in Shades of Purple, Lavender and Pink with Pixel Perfect

What could be more romantic than having a color palette of purple, lavender and pink?
Today we’re sharing a wedding from 2009 photographed by Pixel Perfect. This tented soiree was full of thoughtful details.  Our bride was an artist and loved poetry so she designed all the stationery.  We especially loved the little cards at each table with a quote from a famous author (these served as table names!) The mix of metallics really adds to the romance of this wedding, too. Gold Chiavari chairs and silver chargers with silver mercury and silver plated vessels for our blooms.
The rentals from Placesetters really pulled the look together with their crystal stemware and silver plated flatware. Our arrangements popped off the pale lavender linens, really making a statement as guests entered the tent. The tables were mixed and designed with a variety of different arrangements. Some of the tables featured tall, candelabra designs with taper candles and the low tables were a mix of silver plated family heirlooms provided to us by the bride’s family.
We love Jodi’s Cakes and this one especially!

2015 Wedding Inspiration with Pantone’s Fall Color: Biscay Bay

This week we’re kicking things off with a little Fall Wedding inspiration with Pantone’s Fall Color, Biscay Bay. A lovely mix between jade and peacock and we can’t wait to pair it with Marsala!
While there isn’t a flower that comes in the shade of Biscay Bay, it does create the perfect opportunity as an accent color. We love the idea of incorporating this hue into your stationery, your napkins, or just your accessories perhaps (see below.)

Throw Back Thursday – A Green and White Nantucket Wedding at Whale’s Watch & The ‘Sconset Casino with Zofia & Co.

We’re busy typing away and dreaming up some gorgeous spring and summer weddings at the moment and we’re reminded of sunnier days and greener grass (where is the grass at this point? All we see is snow!) So, today, we’re throwing it back to a gorgeous green and white late summer, early fall wedding that took place at Whales Watch and The ‘Sconset Casino. Believe it or not, a hurricane was arriving to our little island that day, so their original tented reception on the lawn at Whales Watch was moved indoors to the ‘Sconset Casino. This is where hiring professionals comes in handy – you can’t tell “Plan B” was executed in these photos, can you?
Green and white is such an effortless and gorgeous look – perfect for either a laid-back or formal wedding. This bride and groom kept the ceremony simple, with green and whites with a chuppah on the cliff at Whales Watch.



At the reception, we continued the green and white palette and added pops of purple and silver.
These designs were mixed amongst the tables featuring mercury glass vessels, tall arrangements on tabletop candelabras and moss and lavender orbs for interest and texture.
The rentals from Placesetters, Inc. really added to the elegance of the table with the etched glass plates and silver glitter chargers and silver satin linens. We added a sprig of dried lavender to each placesetting and tied the napkins with raffia.




The escort display featured our antiqued mirrors, tons of candlelight and potted lavender plants.

The mix of garden-inspired and formal elegance kept the overall look of the reception looking thoughtful but not over the top. We love it when clients want to mix together two types of style to create a more personal look for their wedding day.

The cake, created by Jodi’s Cakes, featured ribbon-esque fondant and was topped with green hydrangea and surrounded by the bridal party’s bouquets.

Next on our Pantone blog series is Glacier Grey.
What a perfect hue for our little island, “The Grey Lady”.
Glacier Grey is the perfect shade to pair with almost any color for your wedding day.
It serves as a great neutral if you want to shy away from black or navy.
Going for a nautical look for your wedding? Pair it with Classic Blue!
Romantic look? Pair it with Strawberry Ice and Marsala!
The looks are endless with this shade of grey and we can’t wait
to use it with our 2015 brides and grooms!

Throw Back Thursday – A Lush and Romantic Wedding in Sunset Hues at Nantucket Golf Club with Zofia & Co.

We’re continuing our week for the love of pink with a throw back to this amazing
wedding at the Nantucket Golf Club photographed by Zofia & Co. Photography!
Kelley & David are just the sweetest of couples and we were thrilled to design their big day
with bloom in shades of sunset hues with pops of green. Their head table was one for the books, too!
We designed an ombre floral runner ranging from white, blush, peach, pink and dark pink!
This look could easily work for 2015 palettes too! Imagine shades of
white, blush, pink, purple… all the way to marsala! 
Kelley’s bridesmaids wore coral dresses in different styles and
carried bouquets in shades of coral, pink and peach.
We loved incorporating a little nautical notion into their wedding day with this
compass escort “card” display with floating candles on our antique anchor!
We mixed up the tables for the reception – with lanterns and wreaths on some and
wooden boxes with pillar candles on others. Hanging lanterns and custom rope light
 filled the ceiling and created a romantic glow as guests watched the sunset.
We loved their simple and elegant cake – we topped it with white blooms and wrapped it with olive leaves. The bridesmaids bouquets surrounded the cake putting it on display during the reception.
Mother Nature even blessed Kelley and David with a gorgeous sunset to go with their beautiful sunset hued wedding. It was an absolute pleasure to be a part of the team that helped them create their wedding day and it is one we look back on often with joy.

It’s been said a time or two that we’re just a group of girls who love pink!
(And yes, any shade!)
So it seems only fitting that we share with you some Spring Wedding
inspiration based on Pantone’s Spring Color, Strawberry Ice.
Strawberry Ice isn’t just another shade of pink, it’s soft, it’s creamy, it’s romantic! And it pairs well with lots of colors – Marsala, Lucite Green, Glacier Grey, even Custard! We’re dreaming of palettes like Strawberry Ice, Lucite Green and Glacier Grey – having a solid neutral paired with two soft colors will elevate the palette to a more formal scale.
 
Incorporating Strawberry Ice into your current wardrobe won’t be hard at all.

Throw Back Thursday – Blue and White Nantucket Wedding at a Private Residence with Katie Kaizer Photography

Today we’re sharing a beautiful Nantucket wedding shot by Katie Kaizer Photography.
When Jess and Jamie hired us for their wedding we were excited to mix a traditional Nantucket color palette of blue and white with a bit of countryside elegance. Their tables were a mix of delicate glass vases and cylinders with airy blue and white centerpieces with burlap linens and blue and white striped runners. Their bridal party was elegantly dressed in navy, a perfect complement to their hydrangea blue and white bouquets. Jess’s dress was a beautiful, ivory lace gown and she carried a lush all-white bouquet of roses, hydrangea and stock. Their table names were places from their home in Australia designed on Nantucket-style signs. Other fun details included their escort cards, imprinted with sheep.

Romantic Nantucket Wedding at a Private Residence with Katie Kaizer Photography Featured on Style Me Pretty

Erin and Jeff were married this past September surrounded by those closest to them.
Their ceremony took place at the First Congregational Church and their reception was an intimate dinner at a private home out in Pocomo. With shades of late summer, in peach, pink, green and ivory the newlyweds celebrated their love on a gorgeous Indian Summer kind of day.

Throw Back Thursday – A Romantic Eclectic Nantucket Wedding at The Westmoor Club with Soiree Floral & Gina Brocker Photography

Kate & Kevin’s eclectic, garden-style wedding took place at The Westmoor Club
and featured a mix of preppy with a little “English Garden”. We used her family’s heirloom silver and pewter for her containers and all of the tables had lots of little, whimsical arrangements with a mix
of colored votive holders and taper candles. All of the vessels were mismatched yet brought together by the design of the arrangements. Green and white with touches of peach and blush was our color palette which complemented the girl’s navy and white striped dresses perfectly! 
Something we love designing are floral cuffs (see below) they’re such a great option for mother’s or junior bridesmaids and are a great alternative to traditional corsages (if that’s not your style.)

How to Wear a Layered Look for Valentine’s Day with Soirée Floral & Mod Cloth

Today we’re sharing some thoughts on layering your look for Valentine’s Day.
We’ve put together three chic and romantic ensembles using pieces from ModCloth’s collection.
For our first look – we paired a blush trench with a floral top and a lacy cardigan and an a-line black skirt, sexy tights and some killer heels… whether it’s a ladies night out for V-Day or a romantic date with your man, you’re sure to turn some heads!

Our second look is a little more sweet – a heart print blouse with a layered tank and a notched blazer with an a-line skirt, and some fun t-strap heels in black and white! We can’t get enough of these boudoir-style tights!
The third look is a little more laid back, slightly boho with a polished look. We paired a lacy undershirt with a floral top and a cobalt blazer (to bring out the blues in the top) with skinny jeans and simple black booties.

We’re celebrating the end of a very cold week with news that one of our weddings is being featured on Classic Bride Blog today! Danielle and Zach were wed this past June, overlooking the water at the White Elephant Hotel. These two sweethearts had a romantic palette of pink, white and silver and their wedding (as you’ll see) is just bursting with love. The groomsmen looked oh-so-polished in their navy suits and pink ties! And that dress – just wait til you see it!

This green and white wedding is still relevant to our current brides who are looking for sleek designs with clean lines and a touch of whimsy (we love the boxwood orbs hanging in the tent!)

We’re continuing our month-long Pantone series with inspiration for
Lucite Green is another one of our favorites because it’s easy to mix into a Spring or Summer palette –  it’s kind of like Spearmint, a little like Grayed Jade and a little bit like Hemlock which makes it the perfect shade to ombré! Lucite Green also pairs well with Lavender Herb – a perfect pastel pairing for a Spring wedding or perhaps pair it with a bolder color like Classic Blue for seaside nuptials.

Julia and Jeff’s Nantucket Yacht Club wedding is featured in the latest issue of WellWed magazine along with a few of our other weddings. Here’s a peek into the pages of the current issue as well as some of our favorite images from their beautiful September wedding. Brea McDonald Photography captured all the details of their white, peach and green reception. The yacht club glowed with candlelight after the sunset and the couple enjoyed a wonderful evening dancing the night away!
