On the bright side, while the season is short and fleeting we are able to use these gorgeous blooms in our spring designs for Nantucket weddings and events. It’s been a crazy couple of weeks here at the Soirée studio full of meetings, weddings and deliveries! (You can keep up with all of the daily design action on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram)
We kicked off the 2014 wedding season in high gear with this gorgeous bride and groom for their Nantucket Yacht Club wedding. Rebecca has classic style and wanted to add in a fun twist with the floral arrangements and some of the details (just wait ’til you see the cake!) She loves some of our favorite blooms (peonies, ranunculus and garden roses!) and chose some of spring’s most gorgeous colors for us to work with!
Along with the floral design, our sister company Dawn Kelly Designs pitched in with
custom menus, signage and table numbers as well as a custom escort card display for this wedding!

Custom Paper Products by Dawn Kelly Designs – Part 5

Over the last four weeks we’ve been sharing with you some of the new products available through our sister company, Dawn Kelly Designs. This week we’re rounding out the paper posts with an overview of stationery suites, including some available accessories to go along with them.
This suite includes everything from a program to treat bags to water bottle labels!
Chalkboard style is very on trend for 2014 and 2015 weddings and we don’t see it going anywhere for a while. You can get the look by going faux with these printed cards and menu sign (this suite is fully customizable and can include everything from invitations to dessert signs.)

Throw Back Thursday – A Sankaty Golf Club Wedding

You might have guessed this already, but we love a color palette that involves pink!
Today’s Throw Back Thursday is a fun mix of berry colors – pinks, magentas and fuchsias.
The ladies wore a lovely shade of blue which made their bouquets pop! Our bride carried a soft ivory bouquet with springs of mint and blush roses. At the reception the tables were kept simple with two different designs in ivories and creams in glass and silver revere bowls. Our sister company, Dawn Kelly Designs, created the draping in the club, over the dance floor which gave the space the perfect amount of femininity, especially with the floral chandelier.

This Nantucket Yacht Club wedding is one near and dear to our hearts for so many reasons – the bride loved lush blooms that made a statement (and wore a spectacular gown!) and they’re just the sweetest couple from the two of the sweetest families we’ve had the pleasure of working with!

Fete en Blanc Dinner Featured on Pottery Barn’s Blog

It was music to our ears when we got the email the other day about Pottery Barn wanting to feature our party on their blog Have and Hold. This gorgeous poolside summer soiree was so much fun for us to design with its clean and crisp color palette and layered textures. We mixed old with new for this tablescape and added a little pop of gold for shimmer. We worked with some of our favorite Nantucket vendors to create this intimate dinner party-style event.

Cinco de Mayo is coming up in a few days and we’re psyched for two reasons: one, we gals love a good margarita and two, our favorite watering hole is opening tomorrow tonight! Throw Back Thursday – Westmoor Farm Photo Shoot for WellWed Magazine

This week we’re excited to share a look back at a woodland-inspired photo shoot we did for WellWed Magazine. We had the pleasure of working at the Westmoor Farm estate nestled away just out of town – a fun and different spot for all of us to work at!

We adore Jen Shepherd’s inventory over at Placesetters, Inc. so we were sort of giddy to see what textures she’d be layering for this shoot. She’s always layering the unexpected and her pairing of pintucked linens with twig chargers and assorted glass for this shoot were nothing less than unique.

If you’ve never been to Heidi’s shop, Parchment, downtown on Washington Street, make a point to visit her this summer! Her quaint shop is on the way out of town and has some of the best paper products a girl could ever want. Parchment also offers wedding invitations and everyday stationery, she also happens to have some of the loveliest handwriting on Nantucket! We couldn’t believe that our crazy idea of calligraphy on mushrooms actually worked!

Can you believe all the detail of the stationery for this shoot? Sara O’Brien of Griffin-vites is one talented artist. While planning for the shoot we expressed that it was woodland-inspired and we’d be using fiddleheads and ferns – and look what she designed! Watercolor stationery is such a great alternative to letterpress or traditional style wedding invitations or stationery, every time we see her work we’re blown away.

Speaking of being blown away – any cake by Jodi’s Cakes will send your taste buds into a frenzy of excitement! She crafted an ever-so-delicious chocolate and salted caramel cake for this shoot (it was our reward at the end of the day,) which we couldn’t get enough of.

Brea McDonald captured all of the details of the day and as well as these fun behind-the-scenes shots of our shoot for WellWed. We love her style of photography and always enjoy working with such talent.

We designed two bouquets for this shoot – we couldn’t choose! There was a fun floral bouquet with amazing ribbons and variegated blooms and then there was the veggie bouquet! Dawn was so inspired by the organic elements of our woodland-inspired shoot that she crafted a bouquet using kale, onion, mushrooms and cabbage. You won’t believe your eyes when you see it!

It’s funny how when you work with amazing, talented women you admire work doesn’t seem like work at all!

Galley Beach Wedding Featured on Grey Likes

Weddings that take place at the Galley Beach are some of our favorites! It’s that magical sunset, the sound of the waves crashing and the service is impeccable!
Today we’re sharing Katie and Patrick’s wedding this past September at the Galley. This wedding was featured last week on Grey Likes Weddings and we wanted to share with you a few more images from that wedding that didn’t make the feature.
Katie’s vision was to have a simple seaside wedding with a touch of beach glamour. Katie looked gorgeous in her gown – just look at the way the light flowed through the layers! We love that she kept it natural and let the beauty of her surroundings take precedence. The sea glass bottle display on the wine bar was sparkling in the sunlight as the sunset.  Our mercury votives and revere bowls on the tables added a bit of sparkle to the tables in the evening.

Easter & Springtime Celebrations

Springtime is (finally) upon us, this weekend was one of the warmest yet!
And we can’t help but have Spring Fever when it comes to planning designs and decor for our upcoming Spring celebrations!

Here are a few looks we’re putting together for our clients.

“Pinks & Greens” – This client loves chartreuse paired with pinks and blush tones. The bunnies are a fun and playful nod to Easter while keeping everything else a little more formal with the julep cups, delicate blooms and silver flecked dinnerware.

Nantucket Daffodil Festival – What to Wear

A big part of the excitement of “Daffy Day” is not just being able to experience the beauty of the one million daffodils that are in bloom that weekend, or about the pristine vintage cars you’ll get to see – it’s about the fashion! And with having a vintage car parade vintage-inspired attire usually comes along with it. You’ll see lots of vintage Lilly, floral prints and if you step back a little – you’ll find yourself in a sea of green and yellow.
So to celebrate the festival and the beginning of spring, we’ve created a style board with our top picks for showing your Daffy Pride this year!

Throw Back Thursday – A Belle Haven Wedding in Greenwich, CT

Today’s throw back Thursday takes us to the waters of Greenwich, CT.  The beautiful Belle Haven club provided a stunning backdrop for this seaside reception.  Summery colors of blush, green and white looked romantic against the blue water.

I saw this picture of Jen, myself and Jackie and it brought such a smile to my face.  This job has brought such wonderful people in to my life.  They were rockstars that day (it was warm!).  I realized looking at this photo that pretty much every person I hire feels the same way I do about polo shirts.  I don’t love them (at all!), but they are a necessary evil when working at country clubs.  I’m so glad I’ve replaced those collars with fun ruffles and girly patterns in our current work ‘uniforms’.  So much better!

Nantucket Daffodil Festival – Floral Accessories by Soirée Floral

Nantucket’s Annual Daffodil Festival is coming up in just a few short weeks! (April 25 – 27th)
This festival has been celebrating all things yellow and green since 1974 and it’s all about “getting your daffy on” with a classic car parade, picnicking in ‘Sconset Village and donning your best yellow and green ensemble! 

This year we’re adding our own twist on Daffy style with our floral accessories!
Handmade from real flowers, we’re offering four options of wearable art!
