And while we’re not quite ready to give up our flip flops and our sundresses, it’s a relief to know we’re not alone!
Julep, the amazing beauty company, asked us to take part in their “Falling Up” series, helping ladies like us transition from Summer to Fall. We’ll be sharing two looks this week –
so keep your eye out – because we couldn’t pick just one!
Today we’re sharing our love for “Misti” – she’s the perfect balance between blue and grey (perfect for the Grey Lady!) We paired our fall style board with the latest pieces straight from Anthropologie’s racks.

Demure and Dapper on Nantucket Inspiration Photo Shoot – Featured in Southern New England Weddings

Happy Thursday everyone! Today we’re taking a little break from our Throw Back Thursday to share with you a shoot that’s in the new issue of Southern New England Weddings! (On stands now!)

Sneak Peek – Nantucket Bluff Wedding with Soirée Floral and Zofia & Co.

We’re back this week with another sneak peek at one of our September weddings on Nantucket.
Our bride Julie was all about lush, (yet sleek) elegance with a clean palette of green and white. It’s not often we get to design with a mono-botanical concept so this wedding was really fun for us!
 Mark, of the Zofia & Co. team, did an amazing job capturing the details of Julie and Josh’s wedding day – it’s always a pleasure to feast our eyes on the their images when we get the chance to work on a wedding together.

September has come and gone and we can’t believe our eyes (or our calendars!)
As we prep for October brides, we relish in looking back at some sneak peeks of our recent work,
like this intimate wedding shot by Katie Kaizer Photography.
Erin & Jeff are by far two of the sweetest people we ever did meet!
They were married at the First Congregational Church which was followed by an
intimate dinner with their family at home.
Katie did an excellent job at capturing this couples’ sweetness and the details of their gorgeous wedding day.
The proof is in the pudding – wait ’til you see her blog post!
We’re thrilled, and we hope you will be, too! Erin’s color palette was coral, blush, white with a touch of green. We kept it classic and a little garden-inspired and used some of our favorite blooms!

Sneak Peek – A Nantucket Wedding in Madaket with Soirée Floral and Zofia & Co.

September is flying by and our brides have been amazing! Today we’re sharing a little peek
into Caitlin and Rob’s Madaket Wedding shot by Zofia & Co.
Caitlin has great style and she’s such a natural beauty – wait ’til you see her dress! Her floral inspirations were moody, rich colors mixed with peach and white with a natural, romantic look. We loved incorporating a pop of blue in her bouquet and loved how that was even carried into the table setting rentals by Placesetters, Inc. with the water glasses.

Their wedding took place on her family’s property on the lawn and their reception was under a tent by Nantucket Tents. They dined with wine and amazing food by Susan Warner Catering Company and danced the night away with the sound of their favorite songs spun by local DJ Scotta Capizzo.
We’re still gushing over that bouquet – forewarning, you might be, too!

1939 Drive-In Movie Party by Dawn Kelly Designs – Part 2

On Tuesday, we debuted some details from our Drive-In Movie party with A Taste of Nantucket.
Today, we’re sharing more details, shot by the lovely Maria of Charlotte Carey Photography!
This event would not have been complete without these details – the talented team at The Castle Group built the drive-in screen, ERG did the lighting and the sound, and oh my goodness, wait ’til you see those cars!
Nantucket Tents provided us with the Director’s Chairs (they’re available to rent!)
Guests enjoyed popcorn, cigars lit by gorgeous Cigar Girls and a delicious cake by Petticoat Row Bakery.

1939 Drive-In Movie Party by Dawn Kelly Designs – Part 1

Have you ever had that just-pinch-me-already-this-can’t-be-real feeling?
We have and boy, it’s a good one!
Recently, we had the pleasure of teaming up with A Taste of Nantucket owner, Kimberly Reed on this fabulous “Drive-in Movie” concept for a client’s 75th Birthday Party – all the details, from the signage to the candy had to be just right.

First we’ll start with dinner by the pool, overlooking Washing Pond on Nantucket. Our design was black and white with a small pop of red. Our centerpieces hinted at the surprise awaiting guests after the fabulous buffet.

We can’t wait to share the rest with you later this week!
Our concession stand is just the beginning of the details for this drive-in movie –
wait until you see the vintage cars!

A Golf-Themed Birthday Celebration by Dawn Kelly Designs at Great Harbor Yacht Club – Part 2

On Tuesday, we shared our custom canvas totes and Nantucket Red Itineraries
for our client’s surprise birthday weekend and today we’re revealing the
fun centerpieces and escort table display we did for her husband’s
surprise 60th birthday celebration!
He’s an avid golfer and our client wanted it to be fun and clever, yet appropriate for a club soiree.
We created a fun display of cards all “tee-d up” for guests to find their seats.

And when they walked into the grand room… they were welcomed with a little “hole in one” style design with a sand trap. The tables were named after famous golf courses and
made the perfect masculine centerpiece with no fuss and tons of charm.

Throw Back Thursday – A Tented Wedding at the Wauwinet Inn with Soiree Floral and Cary Hazlegrove Photography

We can’t believe September is just a few days away and our fall wedding season is about to kick into high gear! We’re excited for fall weddings and sad to see summer go so today we’re taking a look back   at a lush June wedding at the Wauwinet with Cary Hazlegrove Photography.
An elegant affair, Melissa and Michael were wed on the beach under a bamboo chuppah adorned with  greenery and roses. Up on the lawn, under a sperry tent, their tables were set with gold accents and lush arrangements of roses, hydrangea, sweet peas and stock. 
We love this couple and their family and are so grateful to have been a part of their gorgeous wedding day! Since their wedding they’ve started a new venture – Aromaflage! Be sure to check out their botanical fragrance that doubles as insect repellent for your next wedding or outdoor event!

It’s hard to believe August is almost over (gasp!) What’s even harder to believe is that this wasn’t last weekend – where does the time go!? A few weeks back we shared with you the Westmoor Club’s 2013 Member’s party “A Night in Tuscany” and this year they went traveling again – to the French Riviera!!

Throw Back Thursday – A Moroccan-Inspired Wedding at the White Elephant Hotel

Our forecast today is “considerably cloudy” which is not our favorite kind of weather, but let’s make lemonade from this lemon of a day and take a look back at a colorful and gorgeous Nantucket wedding at the White Elephant Hotel!
We love color and texture and this wedding had it all – just look at her bouquet! The vibrant shades of magenta and orange with pops of purple and gold worked so well together. The team from Ruby Shoes Photography captured their jewel-toned nuptials and we can’t help look at the photos over and over! If you’re on the fence about adding color into your 2015 wedding, here’s proof that color is fun!

When given the opportunity, the ladies of Soirée Floral are all about glitz and glamour (but you already knew this!) So today, in honor of the glam we’re throwing it back to 2010 and this sweet intimate wedding at Whale’s Watch.
Armed with an arsenal of fabulous vendors, Melissa and Jen’s vision for a sleek and modern wedding was executed wonderfully. The rentals from Rentals Unlimited anchored the design of the tent and complemented the sleek design of the tables we created with our lighted centerpieces.

This weekend is the Westmoor Club’s annual member gala and as we prep and design for another fun-filled summer soiree, today we’re taking a look back on last year’s event – A Night in Tuscany.
The warm July breeze filled the tent with the smell of lavender and the sunflowers and potted herbs added whimsy and texture to the farm tables. We love working with the club and their members to create these summer events! What better way to celebrate summer on Nantucket than with a tented soiree?!

Throw Back Thursday – A Shabby Chic Wedding at the White Elephant Hotel with Soirée Floral & Zofia & Co. Photography

This week’s throw back wedding is intimate and sweet. Ashley and David were married on the lawn of the White Elephant Hotel, overlooking the water and was followed by dinner on the deck with their immediate family and a few friends.
Ashley’s color palette was soft and romantic with a touch of rustic; which was infused by using burlap as an accent. Our sister company Dawn Kelly Designs, created a few custom elements like the burlap runner for their dinner table and lace hoops for their ceremony.

Prepping for July 4th with Soirée Floral

July is already in full swing and it’s just the first!
We’re busy with meetings, cocktail parties and a few large summer events here on Nantucket and the 4th of July is Friday! We’ll be setting up parties in the afternoon and then we’re headed to the beach afterwards – so here’s a few Fourth of July “musts”.
If you’ve got the kiddos in tow… head down to Main Street for the annual water fight and beat the heat and have a good ol’ time!
No kids? We love the view and the cocktails at Galley Beach or Cru.
Looking for something more casual and fun for everyone? Try Jetties Beach! You’ll get a great view of the fireworks, any beach essentials you might have left behind and yummy food and drink!

Throw Back Thursday – A Nantucket Wedding at The Wauwinet Inn

We’re reaching back a few years for this Throw Back Thursday Wedding.
A beautiful setting for fall nuptials at The Wauwinet. We loved the dramatic setting for the ceremony with rich colors and a bridal party dressed to the nines. You don’t get much better than cranberry and gold for fall!
Below are a few shots from their fun and colorful rehearsal dinner – with strung lights, bright linens and a steel drum band! And then some of our favorite shots from the wedding day; we loved the beautiful calligraphy on the escort cards, and her trailing bouquet lush with white and pops of green.

White Elephant Hotel Wedding Featured on Style Me Pretty

We love a bride who’s not afraid of sparkle! And today one of our brides is being featured on Style Me Pretty! Jessica and John wed on an amazing October day (it felt like summer!) and she wore a romantic tulle gown with some glittery Jimmy Choos! She had some great details as well – from the invitations to the champagne escort display to the linens on the cocktail tables. One of our favorite parts was the gold glitter toss as they exited the church!
