Last Minute Valentine’s Day Ideas

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!

We hope you got the box of chocolates you’ve been dreaming of, that perfect little piece of jewelry, OR a fabulous floral arrangement! If you are running late on the Valentine’s train (and we know some of you men are) there’s still time to do something thoughtful.

A few, quick easy ideas that are sure to wow your Valentine:

(1): Fireside Picnic – (a very similar idea to our first Valentine’s post)

With a few candles and some yummy treats (and wine) she won’t suspect that you didn’t plan it ahead of time!

Here’s a quick cheat sheet on what to pick up at the store! *Don’t forget her favorite bottle of wine or champagne!

(2): Grab a card or make one if you have a little bit of time. Jot down a handwritten note and tell her how much she means to you. If you do have a little bit of time – we recommend these (free!) DIY Cards. (Bonus: She’ll LOVE that you made it yourself!)

What’s Your Style? – Cocktail Hour

Finding your wedding style on your own can be a bit overwhelming, so we’re here to help with another addition to our “Style” series.

This post goes hand-in-hand with our Linens post a few months back, and we wanted to share some tips on how to hone in on your cocktail hour style.

Cocktail Hour is a great place to gently sway from your reception decor. It can be a great place to play with texture – leaving room for the rest of the night to be more formal or elegant. A few ideas to consider:

1. Fun linens – patterns, sequins, or three-dimensional linens like rosettes, petal or confetti that come in a variety of colors.

2. Different blooms – these don’t have to necessarily “match” with the reception’s flowers. Succulents, non floral elements or incorporating fruit is also a great alternative.

3. If your cocktail hour set up is going to stay up for the whole night use lanterns and add a few blooms and a candle to set a romantic look. Another great look is uplighting – see how beautiful and glowy it is at night?
