Everything's Coming Up Roses

About the Day

One of our only non-postponed 2021 weddings, Kate and Jeff’s foggy September wedding was an absolute dream. As dedicated cyclists and co-founders of Drink Simple Maple Water, their love of cycling and creativity was an essential part of their wedding day. Adding in Jeff’s last name (Rose) and Kate’s boho-garden-chic aesthetic tied the design together.

Kate’s Bouquet was lush and loose with blooms in fall tones and dusty pinks with silk ribbon streamers. We used a mix of garden roses, ranunculus, tweedia, eucalyptus, queen anne’s lace, and astilbe. Petite spray roses went into her hair, her sister’s, and her stepdaughter. Jeff and his son wore spray rose boutonnieres as well. For the ceremony, we covered our birch trellis in smilax vines, and blush, peach, and ivory roses. Galvanized buckets lined the aisle, filled with eucalyptus and roses. After the ceremony, guests moved back up the hill to the clear-top tent. Smilax vines filled the ceiling and defined the space. Guests found their tables on calligraphed cards clipped to golden bike wheels on our tabletop trellis. We also added our L-O-V-E marquee sign to the cocktail lounge area.

As a more intimate group, the 64 guests each sat at wooden farm tables with two different designs. Half the tables had three garden-style arrangements in clear glass interspersed with our wooden lanterns and votive candles. The other 4 tables had two abundant arrangements of dahlia, garden rose, queen anne’s lace, hydrangea, and wax flower in our bronze compote bowls. Among these were pillar candles inside glass hurricane lamps, and votive candles. Aisle markers were repurposed on the bar and escort table. The cascade of roses, eucalyptus, and ranunculus on the cake was the perfect end to the night where everything was coming up Roses.
