About the Day

We first met Lauren in the summer of 2018 as we planned her sister Jenna’s 2019 Galley Beach Wedding. So, when we got the call in the summer of 2020 to help with Lauren and Jack’s surprise proposal, we jumped at the chance to get the full team back together again! One of our favorite things about one of our favorite families is that they love COLOR. With a vibrant color scheme, we planned to use lots of hot pinks and splashy pastels at the Galley. Despite being shorted nearly 300 stems of blue hydrangea, with expert planning by Maggie Stewart, the wedding week went off without a hitch.

Lauren’s bouquet was a striking mix of apricot garden roses, blue hydrangea, lavender stock, green and peach ranunculus with white anemone for a dramatic flair. The bridesmaids wore different styles of the same blushy pink gown and carried scaled versions of Lauren’s bouquet while both Mom’s carried petite posies of similar blooms. The guys wore bright pink ranunculus boutonnieres. The ceremony was held on the water at Galley Beach, with floral boxes setting off the last row of chairs and a pair of urns flanking the altar area, which were repurposed in the tent. Rev. Linda Simmons dressed for the occasion with a bloom-covered jacket, coordinating with the larkspur, roses, hydrangea, and snapdragons. Afterwards, guest found their seating assignments on calligraphed tags on anchor-shaped bottle openers.

Inside the tent, greenery wound around the poles and a floral photobooth was just inside. A long garland with picked in blooms spanned the head table, with blush bouquet vases, floating candles, and pillar candles. Guest tables had silver mercury compote vases with floating and pillar candles. Blooms in lavenders, pinks, yellows, and more dramatic pops of navy blue made each arrangement a statement piece. Topping it all off, Tony’s (Lauren’s Dad) performance of “Sweet Child of Mine” made for a night to remember.
