About the Day
We love when we’re able to connect with local couples like Lauren and Nick, particularly ones who love their pups as much as we do. Originally, we had plans for a puppy-inspired peony-filled June wedding at Brant Point and the Nantucket Hotel. After many pivots, we landed with a micro wedding at the Dreamland on a sunny September Sunday. We shifted from blushes and pinks to a more classically Nantucket design of blues, whites and greens, complementing the harbor view.
Lauren’s Bridal Bouquet was primarily white and blush with pops of blue, incorporating little bits of her mom’s wedding veil. Without a bridal party, the flower girl stole the show, getting to hold the bouquet during the ketubah signing. Primary blooms used throughout the day were blue and white hydrangea, roses, thistle, blue delphinium, and anemones.
The couple arrived for the ceremony in a vintage Range Rover, chaperoned by chief flower dog, Layla. Both the ceremony and reception took place on the Harborside Terrace. We were able to surprise them with an extra-lush chuppah, draped with trailing greenery and blooms. The harbor breeze is usually a welcome delight but it made standing on a ladder, two stories up, feel just a little more precarious.
After the ceremony, the Island Kitchen catering team swooped in to set up an alfresco dinner under the stars. The bold splashes of cobalt in the linens set the stage for a tablescape in blue and white with pops of gold accents. The sweetheart table was moved under the chuppah, making the perfect frame for photos. The Guest tables had a trio of gold lace lanterns, petite floral arrangements in brass cups, and gold mercury votive candles.
