About The Day
Emily and Myles’ wedding weekend started off with a bang at the Whaling Museum and Cru for their welcome party and rehearsal dinner. In contrast to their “elevated classic” design for their wedding day, Thursday and Friday’s events were full of bright blooms in reds, purples, and hot pinks.
The ceremony took place at The First Congregational Church. A dream ceremony location, the arch outside was dressed to greet guests as well as another well placed arch just inside the doors. Large urns of blooms flanked the bridal party as the couple said their I Do’s. A parade through downtown led guests from the church to the Dreamland to get the party started.
Nearly 500 white and blue hydrangea graced the reception area at the Nantucket Dreamland. An explosion of chinoiserie vases with blue and white blooms greeted guests when they got off the elevator with a champagne toast that doubled as escort cards. Guests enjoyed the harbor views during cocktail hour before coming inside to dine on the fine food of Island Kitchen. The head table was an explosion of a lush hydrangea runner that trailed all the way down to the floor on each end. Vellum belly bands by Southern Calligraphy let guests know where to take their seats.
Guests moved back to the Harbor View Room to dance the night away with great music and food until they could dance no more. You wouldn’t be able to tell from the amazing photos, but this was one of the hottest days we’ve had in August, and keeping those hydrangea going was no small feat! Congratulations to the happy couple!
