The view at Sankaty Beach Club seems to go on forever. This blue-sky June wedding perfectly coordinated with Mother Nature’s horizon hues with the shades of blue in the bridesmaid’s skirts and the groomsmen’s suits. Kate carried a bouquet of peonies, scabiosa, veronica and muscari and wore a white Lela Rose gown with gorgeous embroidered detail and sparkly Keds! What a fun twist on tradition! The couple said “I do” in front of family and friends overlooking the ocean – so picturesque.
Their reception took place at Sankaty Golf Club, another spectacular spot for an unforgettable Nantucket view. Kate chose a classic color palette of green and white with pops of blue. Lush and a little wild, the florals were anything but typical. Peony season was in full swing and their layers were full and endless. Florals included hyacinth, veronica, snap dragons and abundant greenery.
The staircase at the entry of the Club greeted guests as they made their way to the tent, adorned with lanterns, garlands of greenery and trailing ivy. And once they reached the top, the entry table displayed sea glass bottles with florals and scattered blooms, the cherry on top of the perfect Sankaty Club wedding entrance. The escort table was another area that Kate and Dan wanted to add a twist on the norm – guests were assigned to their table by finding their names on river rocks.
Under the tent, the centerpieces were mainly green and white with small pops of blue, the linens at the reception were the main pop of color. A fun mix of hand-painted dots and squares mixed with solid faux burlap linens, it’s safe to say that there was no lack of texture and interest on the tables. Lush garlands wrapped the tent poles and added to the garden-style feel of the event. The newlyweds and their guests dined as the sunset and ended their night indoors for dessert and dancing under a spirea-covered chandelier, of course!
