About the Day

Measuring our 2020 and 2021 couples by number of postponements feels like a funny metric, Jane and Richard were married in St. Paul’s Episcopal church after 18 months of planning, and *only* one postponement. Whenever a couple’s design inspiration is “colorful” and “organic”, our creative gears immediately start turning. We LOVE a bride that lets us play with color, like Jenna’s 2019 Galley Beach Wedding. A family friend helped pull together a detailed vision board. While Jane and her mother spent the year sourcing unique antique china plates, we spent the year sourcing (and re-sourcing) their cane-wrapped votive holders. Expert planning by Maggie Stewart pulled together the entire weekend.

Jane’s hand-tied garden-style bouquet was a mixture of lush white blooms to celebrate summer, including peony, astrantia, scabiosa, and mint with silk ribbon streamers. The bridesmaids each wore different gowns in shades of pink and carried colorful bouquets of blush, peach, and lilac blooms with pops of blue. With a focus on color throughout the designs, we aimed for different shapes and textures of blooms in juicy fruit tones.

For the ceremony, a verdant spire of greenery and white blooms framed the church entry. Inside, trailing greenery hung from the pews, and two pairs of arrangements sat on either side of the altar. At the reception, petite arrangements of bright blooms in blues and hot pinks sat in our chinoiserie pots on the cocktail tables. Escort cards hung on an interactive tabletop trellis display. The tent entry was framed by an organic floral spire with abundant blooms in blues, purples, and pinks. Table designs were an eclectic mix of overflowing compote bowls, bud vases, pillar candles, and Amanda Lindroth-inspired cane-wrapped votives. Pops of real fruit were used throughout, with bowls of berries, plums, and nectarines scattered down the head table.
