About the Day

The lead up to Vivian and Seth’s wedding weekend was a challenging one. Hurricane Dorain was barreling up the East Coast, sure to put a damper on the wedding festivities. Plan B was to move their ceremony indoors from the lawn at the Nantucket Yacht Club. As described in this blog post by photographer, Katie Kaizer, luckily the sun came out just after the first look. The family, groomsmen, and club staff teamed up to move the entire ceremony outdoors (including bagging up a rose petal aisle so that it could be re-scattered)!

Vivian’s bridal bouquet was a simple but sumptuous bunch of blush Secret Garden Roses. Her bridesmaids balanced this out with all-white bouquets of roses and stock. A true pink girl, Vivian’s love for all things pink carried throughout the wedding, including the groom’s boutonniere. For the ceremony, rounded arrangements of blush and white were placed on traditional Nantucket grey wood pedestals. Thankfully, these were designed to be repurposed so the groomsmen had no problem moving them back outside. In addition to the pink and white petal aisle, small hanging arrangements in glass vases marked the aisle. These were later repurposed for cocktail hour.

Primary blooms throughout the day were garden roses, ranunculus, spray roses, hydrangea, and white orchids. Vignettes of silver lanterns in various sized flanked the club entryway. An elevated arrangement in whites and blush, echoing the ceremony pieces, greeted guests as they stepped inside.

Guest tables had a uniform design, with elegant rounded centerpieces in clear glass. The addition of Garden Roses made these especially lush. Mixed heights of Monet vases with floating candles were added to some guest tables to add variety to the overall look.
