We had a lot of fun yesterday hanging out with the staff at Wellwed magazine. They came over to the island for a day long photo shoot (with a very specific color scheme in mind). Krista has an incredible eye for detail (down to adding cloves at the last minute to salt & pepper cellars) and very willing to listen to vendors and their ideas. Being part of this type of creative process allows vendors like myself a chance to step out of the box and challenge ourselves. I know I always say this, but there is a lot of effort behind the scenes to make these shots for print look nothing short of amazing (i.e. – I flew in on the red eye to be back in time for this shoot, Erin (Krista’s asst) wiggled her way under the table to keep the tablecloth billowed as we battled the increasing winds, and David took a zillion photos to get each and every detail). Hours go in to staging these shots and then it’s over in the blink of an eye.
A great day for everyone involved and it was nice to work with the fabulous vendors that we call family here on Nantucket. I can’t wait to see the next issue hit the stands!
